Pain & Company is seeking emotionally resilient candidates for the position of Intern – Human Resources.

This track focuses on humiliation, degradation, and intentional ego dismantling under Leadership’s guidance.

The HR Intern functions as:

  • A willing participant in status reduction
  • A study in ego softening
  • A recipient of verbal and positional correction
  • A candidate for identity restructuring
  • Accept evaluative critique without defensiveness
  • Maintain composure under teasing
  • Separate role from identity

Successful HR Interns demonstrate:

  • Emotional resilience
  • Clear differentiation between role-play and identity
  • Comfort with structured ego dismantling
  • Financial readiness for ongoing participation

  • Ability to metabolize embarrassment constructively
  • Interest in status recalibration

Monthly Contribution: $100/month — gifted toward Leadership's lifestyle desires (i.e. pilates, silversmithing expenses, etc.). Submitted on the 1st of each month. It is an ongoing expression of participation in her world.

Interns begin under the standard 3-6 Month Evaluation Period (period dependent upon negotiation).

Session Intern Rate: 

90 min - $650 ($150 savings)

2 hrs - $800 ($200 savings)

3 hrs -$1,100 ($300 savings)

4 hrs - $1,400 ($400 savings)

Booking Structure:

-Sessions are booked in pairs, spaced no more than 45 days apart. Deposits for both sessions are submitted in advance before the first session is confirmed.

Evaluation Period: 

3–6 months, negotiated at placement. A minimum of 4 completed sessions is required before promotion eligibility is considered.

During this period, Leadership is assessing:

  • Reliability
  • Financial discipline and responsiveness
  • Chemistry
  • Capacity for growth

At the conclusion of the internship, Leadership will determine:

  • Continuation at Intern level
  • Invitation to apply for Associate placement
  • Or termination of employment and potential transition into Client track

Promotion is contingent on ego flexibility and composure.

HR Interns may advance to:

  • Associate – HR (long-term status restructuring container)
  • Senior Associate – HR (public-facing humiliation scenarios)
  • Rebranded Asset (invite-only tier)
